In the heart of Bayalbas, Sarlahi, we support children with education & health support. In December, at the end of the year, close before Christmas, we have the opportunity to organise a Dental Camp for “our children” the Dalit children that we care for.
Together with Navaraj Upadhyaya, our local volunteer and boots on the ground we are having this important event.
Two dentists and one assistant will come for a period of three days to look after our children. All children will receive a dental check-up, and they will all receive toothbrushes and toothpaste. The dentists are doing this entirely on a voluntary basis to support our project in Sarlahi.
We have managed to keep the overall costs very low but we are still facing a small remaining amount that is not yet covered. In total, 60,000 NPR is needed to cover the accommodation costs for the dentists, including food, lodging, and part of the transportation costs to bring them to Sarlahi.
We intend to organise a similar Dental Camp every year. If we manage to make it happen now, this will hopefully be the first of an annual tradition through which we can create lasting impact.
This Dental Camp will uplift about 100 Dalit children and indirectly their families as well.
We are assured that the ripple effect of this project will extend beyond immediate relief, nurturing roots that run deep, empowering the Dalit children to grow stronger & better-equipped to face the challenges ahead.
