Together for Nepal: a non-profit NGO in Kathmandu, Nepal
Founded in 2016 after the 2015 earthquakes and registered with the Government of Nepal, Together for Nepal (TFN) works with rural and marginalised communities in 8 districts. We train farmers, respond to disasters, build water and sanitation, support schools and health posts, and welcome national and international volunteers.

On the mid-spring of 2015, two mega earthquakes (7.8 & 7.2 rector scale) hit Nepal causing death of 9,000+ people in addition to making over three million people homeless. This tragedy caused a colossal economic loss of over US$10 billion which was highly overwhelming for already economically struggling Nepal, which faces incessant political instability.
In the aftermath of the quakes, a large number of individuals, teams, & formal/non-formal organizations from Nepal, & numerous parts of the world started to distribute immediate relief items, i.e. tarps, tents, food, & sanitation items. Thereafter, a spirit of extraordinary solidarity among individuals & organizations was born right away -which was a reminder of the story of the mythological bird, the phoenix, rising again from the ashes of defeat. TOGETHER FOR NEPAL (TFN) was born in 2016 from aforesaid spontaneous cooperation and unprecedented synergy -among the concerned ones.
TFN is registered with the Nepal Government as a Humanitarian organization (Non-profit), and it focuses on six (6) segments: 1. Agriculture Empowerment, 2. Emergency Responses & Post-Recovery, 3. Integrated Rural Development 4. Disability Inclusion 5. Volunteerism, 6. Servant Leadership Development

What is Together for Nepal?
Together for Nepal (TFN) is a non-profit humanitarian NGO based in Kathmandu. Since 2016 it has worked with rural and marginalised communities across Nepal on sustainable agriculture, emergency relief, vocational training, health and education, clean water and sanitation, environment conservation, disability inclusion and servant leadership.
Is Together for Nepal a registered NGO?
Yes. Together for Nepal is registered with the Government of Nepal as a non-profit humanitarian organisation. It was founded in 2016, in the wake of the 2015 earthquakes, and works with local governments, schools and international partners such as Wilde Ganzen, Nederland Support Nepal and Stichting Nederland Nepal.
How is Together for Nepal different from other organizations helping Nepal?
TFN is a Nepali non-profit run by a local team in Kathmandu, so support goes straight to communities it knows well, without an overseas head office in between. International organizations and foundations such as Wilde Ganzen and Stichting Nederland Nepal fund projects through TFN, and local people help decide what is built and how it is maintained.
Where in Nepal does Together for Nepal work?
Projects span 7 rural municipalities and several urban areas across 8 districts of Nepal, including Sarlahi in the Terai (Bayalbas), Lalitpur (Mahalaxmi Municipality) and Kathmandu, where the office is in Nayabazar.
