Together For Nepal successfully conducted a two-day dental camp on December 15–16 in Bayalbas, Sarlahi, benefiting over 100 underprivileged children from the local community. The initiative focused on improving children’s overall well-being by promoting dental hygiene as a vital component of healthy growth and development.
During the camp, each child received a comprehensive oral examination, including screening for cavities, gum diseases, and other commonly overlooked dental conditions. In addition to clinical services, interactive awareness sessions were held on proper brushing techniques, the role of nutrition in maintaining healthy teeth, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. These sessions were designed to encourage positive habits from an early age.
The impact of the camp extends beyond immediate treatment. By building awareness early, the initiative aimed to reduce preventable dental problems, enhance children’s confidence, and support better learning outcomes through improved health and comfort. Parents and teachers also shared positive feedback, expressing hope that the knowledge gained would influence daily household practices.
The camp was made possible with the dedicated support of volunteer dentist Mr. Shivam Khaitwada and Ms. Samba KC, and the generous sponsorship of Nederland Support Nepal (https://nederlandsupportnepal.nl/), whose contribution enabled this meaningful year-end health initiative. The camp was also made possible through the kind facilitation and support in fundraising by Mr. George Kanis, whose efforts greatly contributed to the success of this initiative.
