Privacy Policy

Who we are

Together for Nepal ("TFN", "we", "us") is a non-profit humanitarian organisation registered with the Government of Nepal, based at Khusibu Sadak, Nayabazar, Kathmandu 44600. We are responsible for the personal information collected through togetherfornepal.org.np. We follow Nepal's Individual Privacy Act 2075 and, because many of our supporters and volunteers live in Europe, the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect and why

• Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply. We only process this with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.
• Emails and messages you send us directly, for example about volunteering or donating, to answer you and organise what you asked for.
• Bank transfer details that appear on our bank statements when you donate, to account for the gift and thank you.
• Technical data such as IP address and browser type, kept briefly in server and security logs to keep the website safe and working (our legitimate interest).
• Anonymous visit statistics, only if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. These are cookie-free and cannot identify you.

Who processes it for us

We never sell or rent personal data. A small number of service providers handle it on our behalf and only for the purposes above:

• Hetzner Online (Germany): hosts the website and its database inside the European Union.
• Cloudflare: runs the domain name system that points visitors to the website.
• Resend: sends us an email notification when you use the contact form.
• Google Maps: only loaded if you choose to show the map.
• Plausible Analytics (EU): only loaded if you accept analytics.

How long we keep it

• Contact form messages: up to 24 months after our last reply, then deleted.
• Donation records: as long as Nepali accounting and tax law requires.
• Server and security logs: a few weeks at most.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or give it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time, for example through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Write to admin@togetherfornepal.org.np and we will answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Messages are stored in a database that is not reachable from the internet, and only named staff with individual, password-protected accounts can read them.

Children

This website is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data online. Stories and photos of children in our programmes are published only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
